Ever since Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle became a hit in 2017, it was known that Sony Pictures will release a sequel to it. It is coming to the theaters later this year.
Dwayne Johnson is very active on his Instagram account, so he was the one to inform fans about sequel. The Rock gave fans a little Valentine’s Gift in form of information that filming has begun. He shared a photo with a caption: „Happy Valentines Day. Wanna play a game? Here we go…. #StartOfProduction #Jumanji“
The photo doesn’t reveal much. It features the same video game cartridge from Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, that got the main characters in trouble. The official synopsis is not available yet, so we can only guess what does the cartridge represent. The main cast will be back in sequel, including Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. They will be joined by Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, Ocean’s 8), Danny Devito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dumbo) and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, Sorry to Bother You), but their roles are still unspecified. Jake Kasdan will direct the movie, and he will also be co-writer of the script, joined by Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner.
The late Robin Williams starred in the 1995’s Jumanji. Its sequel, named Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, earned $962 million worldwide, which was surprising. Jumanji 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on 13th December. We can’t wait to see if the movie will be able to repeat the same success.
