2020 Triumph Rocket TFC – First Look

A lot of people have been speculating that the iconic Triumph Rocket III line of motorcycles will be discontinued but it’s coming back for 2019 as the Rocket III Roadster, although Triumph has something even bigger planned for this amazing bike.

The 2020 Triumph Rocket TFC, which means Triumph Factory Custom, even though it’s still a concept at this point in time Triumph has announced the 2020 model. We won’t be getting any details until May but got to see a couple of photographs and just from what we can tell that it’s a looker.

The design

The motorcycle looks like missile speeding down a highway just waiting to overcome the Ducati XDiavel muscle cruiser. The 2020 Triumph Rocket TFC went for a modern design. The first thing you notice about the bike is the shorty Arrow exhaust and single-sided swingarm.

If you take a closer look you will notice that the bike has a completely new engine, it might have a shorter stroke but it still holds its unique long triple format. The radiator also looks more powerful so we can expect even more speed.

Performance

Right now the Rocket III gives you an amazing 163 ft/lbs of torque at only 2750 rpm. It packs 148 horsepower on tap at 5750 rpm which is a bit less than the Diavel 1260 engine. It gives you a bit more space though since you’re working with a DOHC powerplant displacing a cavernous 2294cc. The Avon Cobra Chrome tires have a lot on their plates.

Price and release date

Right now we don’t have any information on either since it’s what Triumph calls an “ultra-rare, ultra-premium” bike. While we wait for new information we can only trust Triumphs and they have promised us that “the new Rocket TFC will be nothing short of the ultimate motorcycle, with world-beating performance, cutting-edge technology, muscular presence, and unique engineering innovations.”
