In the future, Disney Animation Studios will make two parts of the upcoming franchise Zootopia. The Studios has a plan for a big investment in Zootopia, and two sequels are going to happen.
According to Tommy “Tiny“ Lister, who gave a voice to Finnick, Zootopia is going to become a franchise of three parts.
“I can tell you for sure I`m doing another Zootopia with Disney. We doing three of them… We the biggest film that Disney is producing. The last one was 240 million. This one I`m hearing will be 300 million. That`s what they spent on the budget, not the advertising,“ explained Lister.
The Zootopia is the movie, which made huge popularity among people, especially children for a very short period of time. The decision to make two more sequels are not surprising because the fans loved the animated movie and, the film made a huge success at the box office. Zootopia made $1 billion dollars at the cinemas and it is the right move to make a franchise.
The first rumors appeared in 2017, a year after the huge success of Zootopia. If the movie made a huge success at the box office, Disney Animated Studios made at least one more sequel. In this particular case, it will be two sequels.
We have one more news for all the fans of Zootopia and Disneyland, Zootopia Land is coming to Shanghai Disneyland.
“Guests will be invited to experience the mammalian metropolis of Zootopia where anyone can be anything, with a new major attraction that will seamlessly blend Disney storytelling and state-of-the-art technology to bring this fan-favorite movie and its characters to life- including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, “said in the official statement.
In the beginning, Zootopia in Disneyland will have only one attraction, and in the future, it will have more rooms from this film. Zootopia Disneyland attraction will follow entertainment, food, and beverage that draw the fans into the movie, and the budget for this Zootopia Land is from $500 Million to $1 Billion.
Do not be surprised to see Zootopia Land also in other Walt Disney Worlds because they do not build new film attraction only for one Disneyland park.
The fans think that this film is one of the best animated movies in the last 10 years, and that deserves a sequel.
Directors of the Zootopia, Byron Howard and Rich Moore, said that there is a lot of stories in Zootopia which are left for exploring, so the sequels can be interesting as the first part of the franchise. We know for sure that the story will be interesting and will include elements from the Zootopia 1.
We saw the chemistry between the Judy Hops, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, voiced by Jason Bateman, in the Zootopia, but they have not ended up together, maybe it is a time in part two for this romance. Fans want to see a relationship between these two characters goes in a romantic direction, but we do not know for sure want directors are planning.
“You and I know what happens at the end of the movie, and I would like them to along on this adventure in their new roles. But because they are playing new roles, I would also like to see Nick have to be the one to convince Judy that the world is worth fighting for,“ said Goodwin, who voiced Judy Hopps.
All the lovers of this movie will have to wait for the official plot. And what about dates release for Zootopia 2, and Zootopia 3?
We do not have an official date for Zootopia 2 in 2019, and all official slots are already taken. It is for sure, that we are not going to watch Zootopia 2 in 2020 either because slots for the next year are fully booked. We do not know in which part of the creating process is the next sequel either.
If we look in 2021 planer we can see a slot for November 24, 2021, for Untitled Disney Animation Film, maybe this is a spot for Zootopia 2. The schedule can be easily changed, and they can put Zootopia sooner if they want that to happen.
We are hoping that November 24, 2021, is the date of release because Disney did not make an official announcement yet.
