1. Holidays (2015)

Since Christmas is one of the stories about dark twists on the main holidays we celebrate, its story is expected to be cruel and greedy. A virtual glasses that Pete Gunderson bought for his son, will reveal the family’s darkest secrets during Christmas.

2. Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010)

In this Finnish dark fantasy horror thriller movie, you are about to have a different perspective about Santa Claus from the one you were taught. Forget about a chunky old dude with a big fluffy beard and a bigger smile, because this Santa is everything opposite, except for the beard.

3. Krampus (2015)

One of the movie’s main characters is based on the character from Austro-Bavarian folklore, who is half-goat, half-demon, and whose job is to punish misbehaved children. Thinking about how bad you have been during the year, has never been scarier.

This classic horror Christmas movie is also partly a comedy. A boy receives a strange, cute creature as a pet and three important rules about having it. Of course, during the movie, rules are broken, which leads to cute turning into evil and destructive.

Another movie with Krampus. It tells four scary tales that were received on the radio station, as notices of disturbance at the local mall, but radio DJ ignores them and keeps playing music.

6. Jack Frost (1998)

After a father who had been neglecting his family over his musical career dies in a car accident, he comes back as a snowman and bad things begin to happen. Trying to make things right with his family, he will do horrible things. Let us just add that the snowman has a shiv as a nose, instead of carrot, and you will realize that this is not Michael Keaton family-friendly movie.

7. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

This masterpiece from Tim Burton is not exactly the horror but it does have a monsters, ghosts, ghoul, goblins, zombies, demons, mummies, vampires, werewolves and witches. Also all of them have the annual Halloween celebration, but once the leader of the town discovers Christmas Town, he will do his best to bring Christmas to his town, which will cause confusion. Be sure to put this classic on your list of the movies to watch.
