The second President of the United States, John Adams, one of the founding fathers, had an idea how July 4th should really be celebrated. He said that Independence Day should be marked with parades, shows, sports and games, bells, bonfires and guns, and that it should be present in all corners of the new continent.
Today, we dare to say that he would surely add a few vehicles to his perfect list. Without further ado, let us look at a list of top ten cars ideal for a July 4 drive.
10. Hummer H1

Originally made as a military vehicle, the Hummer is a truck that won the Gulf War. It runs on a 6.5L Detroit Diesel turbocharged V8 engine. Its Chevrolet TH400 transmission is bulletproof and sends power to all four wheels. This beast of a truck can take on any terrain, as the air pressure in each tire is controlled independently.
9. Ford Mustang

One of the legendary muscle cars, Ford’s famous model, is a perfect American car. The 2019 Bullitt version is a great option for undercover cops if you ask us. We also recommend the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. Anyway, there is a wide array of Mustangs to choose from, so take your time.
8. Jeep Wrangler

Developed in WW2 and originally used for transporting troops in combat, its help in winning the war is indisputable. The enthusiasm of Americans for Jeeps has not stopped ever since, as you can see a huge number of these machines all over the country.
7. Dodge/SRT Viper

Hitting the streets for the first time in 1992, the Viper is a modern American supercar. It is a collaboration between Lee Iaccoca and Carroll Shelby. Originally, Viper had no roof or windows, nor an automatic transmission. Times have changed, and the Fiat-Chrysler company had different priorities, and they stopped manufacturing the famous snake in 2017. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of Vipers to choose from, so hurry up. Their price will surely surge now that no new versions are scheduled to appear!
6. Ford GT

With an idea of winning the famed 24 hours of Le Mans, Ford came up with the GT. In 1967, they managed to take home the trophy. Again, in 2017, they wanted another victory, and their legendary racing supercar delivered again.
5. Chevrolet Corvette

The Z06 Corvette made everyone think that it would be the top dog for years to come. However, Chevrolet came up with the Corvette ZR1, a 755 horsepower beast of a car. You can either have it as a convertible, or a Targa top coupe, which is a semi-convertible. In addition, you can also choose between a 7-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The ZR1 has a top speed of 212 mph, that engine generates 715 lb-ft of torque, and it needs 13 radiators to keep everything running smoothly.
4. SRT Hellcat or Demon

Already a collectible, there were only 300 Dodge Demons manufactured. The Challenger model accomplishes consistent 9-second mark times in the quarter-mile drag race thanks to its 840 horsepower engine. This is the first production car that NHRA banned. The new 2019 models of the Charger and the Challenger Hellcats come with a variety of upgrades, so make sure you check that out.
3. Ford Raptor

The legendary F-150 is an amazing truck. The same engine as the Ford GT, a twin-turbo V6, slightly detuned, powers this 4-wheeler. Feel free to go and enjoy any terrain with this bad boy, it is not afraid of anything. With locking differentials and a remote reservoir suspension by Fox, no surface stands a chance against the Raptor.
2. Chevrolet Camaro

Arguably the best muscle car series ever, the Camaro is the 15th fastest car ever to do a lap at the famously dangerous Nurburgring track in Germany. It accomplished this in the 7:16.04 and worth mentioning is the fact that all cars which did it faster, are supercars that cost several times more, than the ZL1 1LE edition of the Camaro.
1. Cadillac CTS-V

This one is surely a surprise, especially on the top spot, right? Some utter genius at the Lansing Grand River plant decided one day that it would be a great idea to put a Corvette Z06 engine into the CTS, while the suspension was perfected at the ‘Ring. It was a good idea as it turns out. It has an engine packed with 650 horsepower similar to the ones found in the Corvette Z06, and the Camaro ZL1. In addition to that, it is equipped with a comfortable magnetic suspension and a great deal of legroom. It is a Cadillac after all. If this power is just too much for you, the company also offers CTS Vsport with a twin-turbo V6 engine from the ATS-V. This one has “only” 420 horsepower and does 24 miles per gallon.
We hope you have fun this July 4. Remember to drive responsibly. Although it sounds like an amazing time, cars, various beverages, and fireworks do not mix well. Keep that paint job away from the fire, and enjoy Independence Day!
