Simone Johnson, daughter of a Hollywood star and wrestling icon Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave an interview on the latest episode of Swerve City Podcast. Isaiah Scoot, an NXT wrestler and Aerial Monroe, former Mae Young competitor were guests alongside Simone Johnson. During the interview, Simone stated that she arrived at the PC in June last year.
She wanted to become a wrestler since she was a little girl. Firstly, she wanted to start training at 18. However, she wasn’t aware that she is allowed to start training at the age of 16. The biggest fear of her parents was that she would destroy her body with this sport. But, when they saw how passionate she is about becoming a wrestler, they ultimately agreed.
She is a daughter of Dany Garcia, The Rock`s business partner and ex-wife. Simone never suffered from big expectations from her surrounding despite being the daughter of a WWE legend, who is today one of the most popular faces in the world. The only pressure she feels is when she compares herself to her parents. Furthermore, she became comfortable with that more throughout the years.
Simone said that she feels that individuality is the key to anyone`s happiness. She considers it a gift that every person should work on in their life, no matter how hard it is to cope with the pressure of the environment. Naturally, she loves her parents because of everything that they have done for her, but in the end, she considers her as her own person.
According to Simone, the key is to remind yourself about that whenever the pressure becomes too high. For the end of the interview, she was asked what piece of advice her father gave her when she became a wrestler. He said that it doesn’t matter who compares you to your parents, or you are comparing yourself to them, you are your own person, and this is the most important.
