Everybody knows who Marilyn Monroe was. She’s still considered a fashion icon and one of the most recognizable faces of the 20th century. Another icon, but in automotive fashion is Henry Ford. You must be asking yourself what the two of them have in common?
It’s a black 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This car is famous because Marilyn and her husband Arthur Miller drove in it on the day of their wedding in 1956. The vehicle was in Monroe’s possession until she decided to gift it to John Strasberg on his 18th birthday.

Sadly Marilyn died not long after that, but the Thunderbird is still alive. Julien’s Auctions are going to auction the car in November. They estimated the price to go up to $490,000.
The black Ford Thunderbird is partially restored, but it still has original parts. And it has only 30,399 miles on its rebuilt engine.
The president of Julien’s Auctions, Darren Julien said that this is not just a regular car. It’s part of the history, automotive history, and Hollywood history. If you buy this vehicle, you will also get a story, a story about glamor, a story about romance and a story about a tragic life of a Hollywood starlet.

If you are a fan of Marilyn Monroe, or a fan of Henry Ford, or both, head out to the Julien’s Auctions on November 17 and try to get your hands on this magical car. And yes, don’t forget to bring with you about half a million dollars.
