Maya Angelou is also well-known for her activist’s endeavors and was one of the Civil Rights Movement’s most famous women. She worked alongside Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. and advocated the rights of for women and black people. She passed away on May 28, 2014, at the age of 86.
